Veteran Gabe Rosado and Bill Haney went at it this week in a podcast over Devin Haney fighting on Ryan Garcia’s undercard on May 2nd after suing him for battery after their fight last April.
Bill was reportedly upset about Rosado, saying it was a mistake for them to agree to the Jose Ramirez tune-up fight for the May 2nd card because Devin could lose. The former WBC and WBO light welterweight champion Ramirez (29-2, 18 KOs) is dangerous and fighting at a high enough level at 32 to defeat Haney.
‘Money Control’
Rosado told Papa Bill that he’s controlled by money, and he feels that it shows weakness on his part for Devin (31-0, 15 KOs) to be on Garcia’s undercard, facing Jose Ramirez at the Times Square event in New York City.
Pride goes out the window when getting the kind of money that Devin is for his fight against Ramirez, and it’s part of the deal for him to set up a rematch with Ryan in October.
However, where things could go wrong is that Devin and Garcia need to win their fights on the May 2nd card for their rematch to happen.
Ryan is facing the big puncher Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on the card, and he should win, but never know. Rolly has power, and he’s catching Kingry at the perfect time with him coming off a one-year layoff.
Undercard Shame
Gabe Rosado: “Y’all b*** a** are fighting on Ryan Garcia’s undercard,” said Gabe to Thaboxingvoice, roasting Bill Haney with some truths about where Devin’s career situation is now, fighting on Ryan’s undercard on May 2nd.
Bill Haney: “At 26, he’s making more money than you.”
Gabe: “The money tells you what to do. You’re controlled by the money. You sued him for battery, and now you’re on Ryan’s undercard.”
Bill: “That’s part of the game.”
Gabe: “You took the money for the extra weight [due to Ryan missing weight], and you sued. What kind of man are you to be on the undercard?”
Bill: “That’s part of the game.”
Gabe: “If you’re such a big shot, why didn’t you do your own s***? You got Haney promotions. Y’all call yourself promoters, but you’re not doing s***. They threw you a carrot, and you had to take it. You should have stopped the fight to save your son from an a** whooping [against Ryan]. You’re a poor excuse for a father because you let your son get his a** beat.”
