Joe Joyce Defiant Against ‘Finished’ Claims: Predicts Knockout Victory Over Filip Hrgovic

Joe Joyce says he doesn’t care that fans believe this is the end for him in his fight against heavyweight contender Filip Hrgovic this Saturday, April 5th, at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester, England. Joyce (16-3, 15 KOs) predicts that he will win by knockout over Hrgovic in their 10-round headliner, live on DAZN.

Hrgovic ‘s Prediction

Hrgovic says Joyce is “40-years-old and finished.” He feels that ‘The Juggernaut’ should hang up his gloves after he’s finished destroying him on Saturday night. Few fans are giving Joyce, 39, much of a chance in this fight because of how bad he’s looked in his recent losses to Derek Chisora and Zhilei Zhang.

“I’m not thinking about losing and beating him and progressing straight back to the top,” said Joe Joyce to Pro Boxing Fans about his fight this Saturday, April 5th, against Filip Hrgovic in Manchester, England. “I’ve always done well as an underdog.

Joe’s size, power, superior stamina, and amateur pedigree give him a shot at winning. Hrgovic is essentially a six-round fighter, and if he doesn’t get his opponents out early, he looks average. Joyce’s best shot at winning is taking Hrgovic into the deeper waters on Saturday and taking him out with nonstop pressure. Even with Joyce’s slow hands, his shots have a thudding power that could do damage to Hrgovic.

“I’m not bothered. I’m here to do my job. I’m an entertainer, and I get in the ring, and I punch people with these two fists,” said ‘The Juggernaut’ Joyce, reacting to being told that some fans are questioning whether his punch resistance is still intact.

Joyce was dropped in the ninth round by Chisora, 41, in his last fight on July 27th. Although it was more of a flash knockdown, it was still not a good look for Joe to be knocked down by a marginal heavyweight like Chisora, who is arguably fighting at 25% of what he once was.

The Dream

“Yeah, that’s my dream, to get back to the top of the mountain again. I’ve done it twice already. It’s third time lucky, and I’m coming for the titles,” said Joyce.

“We’ve both come up from the amateurs, we’ve fought, we’ve interacted a lot, and fought in the WSB. In the Olympic games, we were on the panel. So, now it’s time to do it as a pro,” said Joyce about Hrgovic. “It’s all going to end the same, a Joe Joyce win.”
